Once upon a time

Not only fairytales are for children but it's true that they also have been a longtime source of inspiration for many artists. Alena Akhmadullina, a Russian-born designer, managed to recreate the fantasy of one of the most popular Russian folktale by bringing to life its underwater world through her newest resort collection. Feminine yet using all kinds of material, she literally carves out of her garments beautiful ocean waves stitched in rough denim, koi carps and crashing curls on chiffon and sea foam formed by fur details in a way that reminds us of the famous Japanese painter Hokusai's signature paintings. Whereas my closet clearly lacks of color, I'd love to wear those gorgeous pieces. It's subtle, delicate and oh so chic !

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY

You know how old movies used to be in black and white ? Well, I think I would have been great in one of them because it seems like I can't wear anything else than black, white or grey clothes. Grey particularly have been one of my favorite color since autumn and its cold weather settled in lately.

I am wearing a turtleneck sweater I got from China, and the pants are from Zara

TOKYO FASHION WEEK STREET STYLE

What comes to your mind when you come across the word 'Japan' ? Let me guess, spirituality, refinement, peacefulness, tradition, beauty, mystery ? I agree. But one thing that is proper to Japan in my opinion is its culture based on contradictions and, I think this is what makes Japan such an fascinating country. Personally, I've grown up listening to what we call J-music and reading manga. Now, my tastes in music might have changed a bit but Japanese Pop Culture always had some kind of influence on me. Come on, don't tell me there wasn't a time you wanted to look like your favorite character from whatever manga/anime it was. I remember when I first got into fashion, I was so obsessed with j-fashion. Do you know the fashion magazine called Popteen ? I used to buy it from the only japanese library in Paris I knew back then. It was full of girly looks that would fit cute teenagers like the ones in all those high school life mangas you might have read. Lots of laces, overly cute accessories, etc. The thing is that I always believed Japan was far ahead from the Occident in matter of fashion. Whereas it could get very eccentric and flashy though original, it always kept a bit of tradition and in a well balanced minimalism. Japanese designers such as Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, Tumori Chisato, Kenzo Takada, Junya Watanabe, Issey Miyake, etc. prove it to us season after season through their admirable work. Here are some street style look from this season's Tokyo Fashion Week that caught my eyes. Tell me what you think of it, okay ?

MINT

Sorry for not keeping you updated during summer but I was a bit overload between my internship and my trip to Japan then South Korea (I'd tell you more about this in another article). Today I'm sharing with you guys an outfit from my internship era. You certainly know my taste now, and as usual, black and white are a must. I've been quite obsessed with lace and my obsession is still going strong though wearing it have become more and more difficult these days. The summer heat has now been replaced by a really chilly fall and I just can't get used to it. I miss the warmth of the sun. In the space of two weeks, the temperature has dropped drastically and I don't even know what I should wear.. Can you believe that I'm already starting to wear my turtleneck sweaters ?! I miss chilling around in nothing more than a shirt dress ! I guess I'm more of a spring/summer person than a fall/winter one. What about you guys ?

Stay warm and try not to catch a cold ! x

my shoe collection

Remember when I uploaded my first Youtube video ? Well, here's my second one. Actually, it's been a while since I uploaded it but I forgot to share it with you guys on this blog. I don't have lots of shoes but I still wanted to show you guys what kind of shoes I own. It doesn't look like it I know but, in fact I'm a bit of a shoes addict. The only thing that keeps me from not having a thousand of pairs of shoes is that financially speaking, I'm a bit short aha !

Hope you'll like it and feel free to comment/subscribe ! x

LE BOUGAINVILLE

You guys are pretty lucky, this is my second article this week and I have to admit that I'm quite surprised myself (I'm on easter holiday, that's probably why aha). But you know what ? Let's just hope this will continue, right ? So, I believe that you are now pretty familiar with my friend and occasionally photographer Chloé from Crackeryourstyle. Well, last Saturday, her and I went to brunch, which btw was really good and left us REAAALLY FULL like we were totally beaten afterwards (you can see how big the platter was on my instagram). The thing is that besides having a brunch on a beautiful Saturday morning (the weather was far from beautiful ! With the luck we have, the day had to be rainy of course), we actually planned to take some photos of our outfits for each of our blogs but the energy just went out. You just had to see us wandering in Paris, not knowing where to go, with the idea of going back home and sleep as the only thing in mind. That's why I'm sorry for the lack of research on the location of our photoshoot session. I just hope you won't be too disappointed by the result (my hair look so messy.. ugh)
Promise, I'll try to make some efforts next time ! x

LONDON

It was about two months ago but I actually went on a short trip to London on the weekend of my mum's bday. She wanted to go back there so I planned it the week just before and that was it, our third time in this wonderful city that London is. We were literally freezing as it was winter but whatever, walking around London is just too nice not to be done. Once again, it made me want to live there. By the way, A short video of my sightseeing around the city is on going but for now, here are some shots of me (I know, what is the interest of seeing photos of me when all you want to see are photos of the city.. It's coming, I promise!)
'til next time peeps ! x
